This is my second year of photography after getting back into it in March of 2009 - I'm hoping for a fresher look to my images this year. Last year's seem to have a dark and contrasty theme. I'm also doing a Project365 - a photo a day - for the year, hopefully this will keep me on my toes and have me trying new things. Not all of the Project365 pics will go on this photo blog - I'm pretty sure quite a lot of them will be shit, but you can see them all on Flickr here.
I've been a keen photographer since I was a wee lad when my dad bought me a Nikon EM. This was my primary camera until I bought a second hand Nikon 301 when I had a bit more cash in my pocket and later a Nikon F90X when I had even more.
About 6 years ago I took an accidental break from 'proper' photography to take snaps of my kids. As beautiful a subject as they are, the snaps didn't satisfy my shutterbug desires. Last year I switched loyalties and bought a Canon 450D, my first D-SLR and things have really come back to me with a bang.
I'm seeing improvements in my images all the time, but there's a long way to go. As Cartier-Bresson said, "Your first 10000 photographs are your worst."
